If you are reading this page, you have this question on your mind: what should you collect? I have asked myself this question throughout my coin collecting life. To answer this, I ask myself four questions:
- Should I collect something simple or more of a challenge?
- How many coins do { want to collect? For example there are 24 Peace Dollars, 35 Franklin Half Dollars, and significantly more Lincoln Cents.
- What condition do I want these coins, average circulation, uncirculated, proofs?
- What composition would these coins have, silver, copper, clad?
If you are thinking about what to collect, here is an app, Collection Suggestion, to find the collection for you. With this app, you will select an option from 4 categories (difficulty level, total number of coins, condition, and composition). After selecting from each category, you will see up to 5 suggestions with a brief description of each.
For now, it is mostly consisting of 20th century coins. There are a few suggestions of 19th century coins and I hope to add more in the future.
On the left side of the screen, or top on mobile device, select one of the 3 options and click the Next Category button.

After clicking the Next Category button, the selection will be added to the right side, or below on mobile. When you want to make a change, you can click the Change button next to it at any time to change your selection.

Once you select the last category and click Next Category, the button changes to Get Suggestions.

When you click the Get Suggestions button, you’ll get a pop-up with up to 5 suggestions of what to collect. Then you can click on each one for a brief description. After going through each suggestion, you can go back and make changes by clicking the X on the top right of the pop-up.
For example, the choices from above give suggestions including a Kennedy Half Dollars circulation set, a silver short set of Washington Quarters
, and a short set of Roosevelt Dimes
.

In conclusion, this can help you begin collecting coins. So, give it a shot by clicking here. Let me know what you think.
